Province announces funding for 65 Ave. Interchange

The Alberta Government will contribute $33 million towards the 65 Ave. Interchange project.

UCP Transportation Minister Ric McIver made the announcement on Friday, Nov. 6, alongside Leduc-Beaumont MLA Brad Rutherford, City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young, Leduc County Mayor Tanni Doblanko and Edmonton International Airport (EIA) CEO Tom Ruth. The City of Leduc has been working towards building the 65 Ave. Interchange for over 20 years. Design for the project has been funded and is set to be completed this year. In addition to the $33 million funding promise from the province, the city will be contributing $12.5 million. The province has applied for the remainder of the funding to come from the federal government. According to the City of Leduc’s, website the project’s budget is $92 million.
